the front is kind of interesting. not sure if its a “good-looking interesting”
the rest looks much like one of the small renaults, renault clio or so. this will NOT challenge the mini (only if your blind, and you should NOT be driving on your own then)

Anti-Believer- I ‘d agree with Jake6. For a little bit of a premium, you get a few extra options and a little bit different car. Badge engineering has nothing to do with ugly cars. Bad designers make bad rebadges (thats a mouthful).

Not a big deal, just a bit more choice.

rix200ss- Compared to full size Lincolns of the past, the MKS is actually fairly small. Compared to other vehicles in it’s segment it’s not that big either.

But I agree they have to make the face a little more appealing and sporty and something else with the rear, a hatch would look great IMO. Other than that great design and awesome interior.

Man this car is gorgeous. I think the people that are down-playing this car aren’t looking at it in light of its competition. Let’s create a brief list of its competition:

Competition—> Does it look better?

Mini Cooper –> Much Better
Mazda3 Hatchback –> Much Better
Honda Fit –> Much Better
VW Beetle –> Much Better
Volvo C30 –> Slightly
Toyota Matrix –> Wayy Better
Audi A3 –> Slightly
VW GTI –> Yes

The same people that think this car is ugly, are the same people that think the competing cars are design catastrophes.

And if it was a regular hatchback in the back it would like a mini size Venza or some other gay crossover. Lincoln, this is a home run, a design extraordinaire…The typical Lincoln owners and big car zealots have plenty of other choices to choose from.

Doesn’t surprise me most people don’t like this car. Most people drive Camrys and Accords, watch American Idol, and drink Bud Light. So, no harm done if it doesn’t roll with the “it better be generic” crowd. You guys probably salivate over the G8’s design. The C is about refinement. The shape is efficient. It doesn’t need scoops, bulges, sharp creases, etc. to exude athleticism. I’d compare the C to the hottie at the park that glides by in her black tights on a cold morning run. Lithe, lean, muscular, but not overly so, athletic, attractive, but from the basic human form, not from affectations. G8 designs are like pole dancers or body builders. Brutish and overt, and with a bunch of chemical or surgical help. And they age a whole lot worse.

I’ll take the C. Damn she’s fine.

I love the thought of ecoboost.

I can definitely see the Mazda 3 platform underneath the skin. It is a good start but too bulky. Lincolns direction seems to be taking on the appearance of mass these days. The MKS is a large bodied car. Bigger is not always better. Especially when it starts to look bulky.

Good start Lincoln just slim down the nose.

They left out the fact that it has a dual clutch 6 speed.

I think this might be a Mercury cruiser too. However, Mercury Seriously needs to bring back the sexy 1967 Cougar modernize with the same flowing lines of the original with the Hidden Headlamps. Give it say 750 HP and all wheel drive. Give the GT-R V Spec owner something to think about when he pulls up to the light next to ya!

Lincoln seriously needs first a Production sports couple. Its absolutely dying for one. You can’t be a serious Luxury automobile maker and not have one. Lexus and Mercedes I rest my case. The others are just pretenders to the thrown!

I don’t know about you guys but I think this will look great for Lincoln. Hopefully it will come in a convertible and an Ecoboost option to fight off MINI’s supercharged Cooper. Go for it Lincoln, I would buy one with an Ecoboost engine.

I knew this day would come.. no Sable or Mountaineer replacements, Mariner and Grand Marquis on their last legs, and the Milan restyle is virtually indistinguishable from the current model. In fact, the only future product confirmed by Mercury is a Focus-based “upscale compact vehicle” sourced from Mexico.

My guess is this concept previews that vehicle.. the new Lincoln MCY (Mercury).

Actually all Mercury products cost more than Fords to cover the cost of making new front and rear clips and interiors, etc. If you were a fool to fall for a Mercury Tracer cause you thought it was “better” then you are not a educated shopper.

Only difference between a Milan and a Fusion is the tail and headlights! WOW that makes it really worth it.

No wonder GM ran their self into the ground. Look at them now… begging for money. Ford was begging too but changed their minds. But they were begging for awhile so that tells you they either they were being greedy for money or really did not need it. I said they were being greedy for a safety net.

Anyway…. u can have your Tracer.

The Cadillac Cimarron was an acquired taste, and so is this. LOL

I can’t honestly say something like this won’t be produced, because Ford has the ability to build more cars off the new Focus/Mazda3 platform and not cost them much. I’d probably expect a premium model eventually after Volvo is sold off. If Mercury is still around, I’d expect them to get it since the Tracer and Cougar they have lacked a smaller car at the Linc-Merc dealerships.

Hey, what was ever wrong with the Tracer? When I was growing up, my parents had those and Escorts because we couldn’t afford bigger cars and the Tracer didn’t cost much more but gave people a little bit of choice to the Escort, and it didn’t cost Ford much to produce it.

There is nothing wrong with brand engineering models, like the Fusion and Milan, Milan doesn’t cost any more, but if you don’t like the Fusions front or rear design but like the overall package, you can get the Milan! I almost did.

I sincerely hope someone from Ford Design (Horbury, Mayes, you listenin?) was dragged kicking and screaming out into the street and had one put in their ear for designing this travesty. Hard to believe the same company that gave us the Interceptor, the Messenger, the MKR, etc. could have cobbled together this ridiculous POS.

I’m surprised no one esle picked up on this. Lincoln C… Lincoln version of the Volvo C30 built on the corporate C platform. I agree with Blakkarr, this should be a Mercury with more Mercury-esque, not a Lincoln.

I can’t see this conquering any MINI owners or appealing to any traditional Lincoln customers or enticing people out of the BMW 3-series or Audi A4s. I can’t see this weird little thing in my driveway at all. They think there ought to be a subcompact / pocket-size Lincoln? Maybe there ought to be a Lincoln-branded Segway, too.
