Ford's luxury brand, Lincoln, has beat out other high-end brands that include Lexus, Buick, and Cadillac in the yearly American Customer Satisfaction Index. The survey asks customers to evaluate the quality of their new vehicles.

Lincoln scored 90 out of a maximum score of 100, with Lexus a close second with 89 points. Buick was tied for third with a score of 87 by the first non-luxury brand that was Subaru.

Rounding out the top ten were BMW, Cadillac, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and Volkswagen, in that order. The average was 84, with Honda, Ford, Jeep, and Nissan scoring below that.

The Japanese brands, while once at the top of the list, have dropped due to the large number of recalls they have released over the past year.

Lincoln's high score is overshadowed by the fact that its customers are falling, though they are loyal.

The study also concluded that Chrysler's three brands are still catching up to competitors, as none of their brands reach the average. Dodge was rated third-worst, while Chrysler was at the very bottom of the list.

Mazda and Kia are also near the bottom, with Mazda matching its all-time ACSI record in the latest survey.
