Lincoln MKZ to star in new Kanye West video

02/27/2006, 9:54 AM

The Lincoln MKZ — formerly the Lincoln Zephyr — will have a starring role in rapper Kanye West’s next music video, according to the Detroit News. The new single, “Drive Slow,” also features “king of the parking lot” Paul Wall. West briefly mentions Lincoln in his first verse in the song, so perhaps the product placement will not seem entirely contrived. Meanwhile, Wall proudly plugs his CL Mercedes in his verse. American automakers are increasingly turning to hip-hop artists for help with promoting their vehicles. Ford apparently is hoping an endorsement by West and Wall will help steal some thunder from the Chrysler 300C, which has been a massive hit in the hip-hop community.

Its not “hating” if I may borrow a slang term from the vernacular of the ghettoland for a moment. And Michael is quite entitled to his opinion without you becoming reactionary and resorting to name calling, Maranello. In fact most ADULT black folk see rap for the garbage that it is and have no use for it. they’re into R&B and blues because that actually requires talent. Rap is easily and inexpensively produced, principally for young people with unsophisticated, unrefined, and uneducated musical palates. You are also entitled to your own opinion, Maranello. Please feel free to talk trash about any musical persuasion you like…its not gonna change the fact that rap is garbage, and its just going to reveal your unrefined and underdeveloped musical knowledge.

Did I say I was going to hate, yeah alot of rappers are not talented, but that doesn’t mean that all rap is bad, and I am black folk, and i’m not so immature that i’ll say that it’s not something wrong with most of the untalented rappers that flood the genre today. I appreciate music in general dude. Maybe others should appreciate it too, because RAP is music just as any other genre is. And I like R&B and Blues also, so don’t come at me like i’m an ignorant black kid that doesn’t appreciate much.

Hmmm after looking on google for this “Paul Wall” I must say… he is now officially in my book of “people I must kill before I die.

Btw, hiphop is not all garbage, about 1% of the numbers released in that genre is actually listenable.

Rap sucks but it sells and so Lincoln wants to be hip with the younger audience but they will not purchase the MKz unless it has a large set of rims and some TV’s in the seat cushions!
