As Leftlane has reported before, Lincoln is set to debut refreshed versions of its MKS sedan and MKT crossover in Los Angeles, and a teaser image of a new Lincoln hood design left us questioning what was being previewed just yesterday.

Today, Lincoln revealed a second teaser image of a taillamp, which when compared to the current MKS sedan (comparison image in the gallery above) shows striking similarity.

Based on what Lincoln has previously revealed, we know to expect a mid-cycle refresh for the MKS and MKT models to debut this month in Los Angeles, with the MKZ’s (concept) reveal to follow in January at the Detroit Auto Show. That said, we are confident that this image is that of the refreshed MKS’ rear quarter panel, and we can only assume the hood previewed yesterday is also part of the new MKS’ total package.

Speculation aside, what we do know is that this hood does preview the future design of at least one production Lincoln model, with Lincoln suggesting that the image is, “The next step for Lincoln…forward-looking and more elegantly crafted. Now it gets interesting.”

Stayed tuned as we have a feeling this won’t be the last preview image before the car is fully revealed in Los Angeles.
