In America, motorists who illegally park their cars will receive a ticket, or, at worst, be towed or have a "boot" placed on a wheel of their vehicle. In Lithuania...well, they just took parking enforcement to a whole new level.

Mayor Arturas Zuokas of Vilnius, Lithuania was upset to see a number of expensive cars, including a Ferrari, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes S-Class illegally parked in a cycling lane in his fair city. In what is perhaps the most effective argument for increasing the power of local government this scribe has seen, Mr. Zuokas employed the services of an armored personnel carrier in an impressive effort to dissuade future violations.
