Longoria crashes Chrysler’s party?

Chrysler’s extravagant unveilings of several new vehicles at the Detroit auto show last week received much praise, but things may not have gone quite as smoothly as some reports would have you believe. When Chrysler brought Eva Longoria to introduce the Chrysler Imperial, the result was “less than scintillating,” the Detroit News says. When it was time to deliver her scripted lines, Longoria struggled. “I’m not that desperate,” she said to Tom LaSorda, Chrysler Group’s CEO, as the two stood between the Imperial concept. Then she quickly corrected herself. “I mean I’m desperate for this car. I want this car,” she said, pointing to the car before rushing to LaSorda’s side to give him a sideways hug. The clunky line delivery was compounded when a piece of carpet came loose and peeled up when the Imperial rolled onto the stage.
