Lotus CEO to step down

07/15/2009, 2:10 PM

By Andrew Ganz

Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley will step down effective Friday due to an ongoing back problem. Kimberley’s doctors recommended that he vacate the position to focus on his back health. For the interim, the current Group Lotus board members, supported by shareholder Proton Holdings, will provide day-to-day control of the automaker until a successor is named.

Kimberley underwent surgery late last year, but it was only partially successful in alleviating his severe back pain.

Appointed CEO of Lotus in late 2006, he is fully responsible for formulating and executing the automaker’s then-new strategic business plan that included, among other things, the all-new Evora.

I was just going to say he must be spending too much of his time in his products . . .

“but there was a woman who worked in the building i do”

I’m a bit confused. Can you clarify that statement, please? Or are you a lucky bastard?
