To end the year on a high note, Lotus has lifted the veil off of a new variant of the mid-engined Evora dubbed Sports Racer.

Billed as a premium alternative to the regular Evora, the Sports Racer can only be ordered in Aspen White, Carbon Gray, Nightfall Blue and Ardent Red. Regardless of which color is chosen, the roof, the door mirrors and the rims are finished in glossy black.

Interior pictures are not available but Lotus says that the Sports Racer comes standard with the 2 + 2 seating configuration that is optional on less expensive Evora models. Buyers are able to choose whether they want red leather upholstery with black stitching or black upholstery with red stitching.

Swaying from Lotus' famous "light is right" philosophy, the Sports Racer is full to the brim with high-tech equipment. Passengers are treated to a DVD player, a 7-inch touch screen and a Bluetooth connectivity system, while parking sensors and a reverse camera are both included in the package.

There are no modifications to report in the engine bay. Both the naturally-aspirated Evora and the supercharged Evora S can be ordered in Sports Racer trim.

Available in showrooms throughout Europe now, the Evora Sports Racer starts at £57,900, or roughly $94,500. Lotus has not mentioned if the package will be offered to customers in the United States.
