Lotus ’ track-only Evora Type 124 (pronounced One Twenty Four) Endurance Racecar made its world debut earlier today at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Although based on the standard Evora coupe, the 2+2 has been thoroughly reworked to comply with FIA regulations and safety standards.
To ensure a sure-footed racecar platform, Lotus created the Evora Type 124’s platform out of super-stiff extruded and bonded aluminum. The Evora Type 124 also employs lightweight forged aluminum wishbones to ensure strength while keeping weight at a minimum.

Other racecar bits include a full roll cage, 120 liter fuel system, FIA fire extinguisher and carbon fiber rear wing, diffuser and front splitter.

Underhood, the Evora’s Toyota -sourced V6 has been massaged to produce “over” 400 horsepower. That power is channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox.

In order to ensure proper racecar handling, the Evora Type 124 has been upgraded with 4-way adjustable dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars, as well as a Bosch-tuned ABS system. Eighteen-inch wheels – shod in Pirelli racing slicks – hide 6-piston calibers front and rear.

No word on pricing but the Evora Type 124 will make its racing debut at the ADAC NĂĽrburgring 24 Hours.
