Lotus Exige S Club Racer

Lotus has released a Club Racer version of its Exige S. While mechanically the same as the standard Exige S, the Club racer offers an exclusive sky-blue and black paint scheme as well as unique interior trim. The Club Racer also comes equipped with Lotus’ Sport Pack, Touring Pack, Super Touring Pack, sports exhaust and air conditioning.

Only 25 Lotus Exieg S Club Racers will be built — although it remains unclear if any will make it to the U.S. Pricing for the Club Racer starts at £39,950.

So it’s called a Club Racer, but technically it isn’t faster, probably even slower due to the weight from the extra ‘packs’?

Whatever. Every month a new clubsport track version of the Elise/Exige comes out. No one cares anymore. Slapping a new paint scheme and A/C on a car doesn’t make it a new car.

gotta admit this is just a waste of space on this site… different pain job and a/c. Since when did those factors contribute to making a sports car? Sure I know it’s already a sports car… but these are in NO way improvements.

25 being built and theyve been sold already. stupid news. small companies like this can make one-off production cars because they have a low output of cars anually.

Looks beautiful. I have an Exige and nothing beats it for sheer thrill. Its way ahead the best from Porsche, Ferrari etc.

Because I’m sure you’ve driven the best from Porsche (Carerra GT) and Ferrari (FXX)…

Love the car and the colour, but this is not news. Someone at Lotus’ PR company has just won £5 on a lunchtime bet that he could get a story about a new paint colour published.

Yes, it is ahead. Its far lighter than a Carerra GT or FXX. Therefore, there is more grip and better acceleration. OK, in a drag race the raw power of the FXX wins, but it would struggle to get away from the Lotus in the corners. My Exige is on PilotSport tyres and I’m planning to boost the engine to 210 hp. It’s just thrilling.

I think you guys are comparing different car for different people. exige=pure expression of track car. porsche=pure expression of sports/track/daily car(911, cayman). What porsche lacks in raw performance of exige makes up in practicality and reliability.

also in interior space and refinement porsche wins..I drove my friend’s ‘08 exige-S. awesome awesome performance but I was just too cramped in there!

You didn’t answer my question. Have you driven the Carerra GT or FXX?
