Lotus to build niche vehicles for other companies

Lotus CEO Kim Ogaard-Nielsen has confirmed to AutoWeek that his company plans to manufacture niche vehicles for several other companies. “We have a couple of opportunities where we are going to manufacture for another company,” he said. The Volkswagen GX3 Concept was recently seen in testing at the at the Lotus facility in England, indicating it may be a joint venture by the two companies. Moreover, Lotus recently publicly said that if another manufacturer wants to sell its APX Concept crossover, it will build it for them.

I’m all about cornering that 3-wheeled thing. I also have my motorcycle endorsement. All I need is for a red one to be waiting at the dealership. It’s my own little race car for the road, with a warranty.
