Magna International, a Canadian automotive supplier and producer of Chrysler vehicles in Austria, is said to be interested in purchasing Land Rover and Volvo from the beleaguered Ford Motor Company. Magna, which produces some parts for Land Rover, narrowly lost to Cerberus in the bidding for Chrysler.
Autocar reports that Magna would be interested in the British and Swedish brands in part because of their factories, which are not currently running at full capacity.

Ford has put Land Rover up for sale, but has expressed interest in keeping Volvo for itself. Cerberus, Chrysler ’s new owner, has also expressed interest in Land Rover and Jaguar .
