  • Man electrocuted by urinating on downed power line after car crash

By Mark Kleis - Posted March 2nd 2010

In what just might be one of man’s most feared ways of meeting his maker, it appears a man in Washington was electrocuted to death by urinating on a downed power line following a car crash that would have otherwise left him in good health.

According to Grays Habor County sheriff Deputy Dave Pimentel, Roy Messenger, age 50, collided with a power pole on Friday. Messenger then phoned a relative to say that he was OK, but needed to have his car pulled from the ditch. Before relatives or authorities could arrive on scene, however, Messenger apparently decided to empty his bladder one fateful and and final time.

Deputy Pimentel says that Messengers’ family found him electrocuted in the ditch when they arrived, and burn marks indicated that Messenger’s stream of urine brought a shocking jolt of electricity up his… well, you get the point.

Myth busters did an episode on this. It is not possible for this to happen unless his “you know what” was a few cm away from the line.

I can’t believe LLN posted this. How do you think Messenger’s family feels that you put this out for everybody to laugh at, LLN?
