You are aware (as I quote you verbatim)
that I can afford tyhe "luxury" pilot or highlander.
TOYONDAS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!
and your "janitor" insult is tired and not working.
'

Dont be mad bc you can afford an A—a L—s or Infiniti

Yeah, as you pointed out, I can afford a datsun or a faux-luxury toyonda. Nissan/datsun doesn't make a car that's in the category I'm buying in (murano/fx only seats five, and I don't want a truck-besed SUV (Armada/QX 56) or a Minivan (Quest).
I'm not settling for a toyota or a honda, even if you spruce them up and add an "L," or "A," respectively.

JJT: you cant spell Acura Lexus or Infiniti and you are a janitor
The fact that the "TL" is a based on the Accord is true but they share different sheet metal driving dynamics and engines. Even when you say your comment its irrelevant bc the Accord is one of if not the best cars out there and that is fact backed up by any magazine a site like KBB which is used in courts of law on your precious United States and anything else you can think if. If it we based off of something that GM made then it would be an insult bc GM sucks !
People want Honda and Toyota and that is why they are worth more People settle for Janitors and GM products bc they are cheaper
Your Buick is a rebadged Saturn oops Chevy oops GMC .You couldn't afford to be interested in ANY Japanese car besides Buicks are meant to hold mops and buckets anyway A Japanese car is too upscale for someone like you Keep buying American crap.
Now JJT clean up this pile of shit

Actually Tripleonesmom, I think what I post is much more interesting then your same old same old every single post. I like the Acura TL's myself. Think it's a great car, but unlike you, I can look at cars in a non-biased way. The vehicle with the least amount of depreciation in the states, excluding exotics is the Jeep Wrangler. U.S. News 01/12/2008. I know how much you love useless stats. Say hi to your Mom when you get back to the trailer tonight? Or maybe you've not left the trailer today because you have very little to do being a livin at home fat punk obsessed with Shemale porn.

"Slapping my Grandmother"? Thats interesting
The facts are the facts Look it up See how much a 2004 TL is compared to the 2004 6 cylinder CTS or any other japanese car vs its american "competition " if you can call it that
Nice to make a blank stmts but it takes a little more than name calling and mentions of ones older relative to disprove what Im saying
Try again

LaCaLover: actually, I did live in the Netherlands about 6 years ago, so I do know what I'm talking about. And no, being a car enthusiast DOES NOT mean you have to like all sorts and types of cars, there's this thing called PREFERENCE which apparently is an unfamiliar term to you. Who's the Neanderthal now, huh? That's right, crawl back under the cave you came from, stay there and be a good boy.

It was nice to have a week on this board without a flamewar. I guess it's over, I'll have to stop reading from work because the webfilter will start rejecting LLN again. Hear that, LLN advertisers???

Ok Lamboz you posted that and are talking about preschool stupidity ???
HMMMM
JJT is John Cena now lol. Your "rhymes " are how do you say ? "wack" ! Stick to cleaning up shit and taking out garbage and not the garbage that you drive I mean the other american garbage that you get paid to clean up.

Look in the books and look on the streets I see at least 10 TLs per day and behind the 3 series its the best selling entry level luxury car

If anyone has driven the Accord vs it you would know they are different cars Instead none of you can afford it and are buying 4 door Cobalts and whining about how Accord and Camrys are the same blah blah blah

They outsell outlast and have a higher resale than ANY American counterpart and that is FACT

If you are too immature to realize that then thats too bad !Ill keep letting you know each and every post how much better Japanese cars are over the American cars

tripleonefagboy was concieved in a 1987 Acura Legend. That's right before his Dad lost it all and dumped he and his Mommy for a transgender prostitute. That's the only memories he has so people should just leave him and his Acura/Honda obsession be. The old Legend has 325k on it now and 22 timing belts and 12 head gaskets later TripleMomsboy still drives that "memory on wheels" to work everyday. He finally has worked his way up to manager trainee for the drive through at I-HOP. Good job Triplemomsboy. You may make it unlike your Mom back at the trailer court sucking pricks for drug money. She did'nt garner the name "The Cumcuddler" for nothing. I'm sure one day Triplemomsboy, you'll find that soulmate on Craigslist you've been waiting along time for. He is out there, if not, there's always your Mom. She may throw the occasional empty can of Milwaukee's Best at you and tell you to get out of her trailer house but she still cares about you and that old Acura, the only car she's ever known. That anti American biased opinion of yours at such a young age will get you places one day I'm sure. It's O.K. triplegfag, if it makes you feel better go ahead and call me a janitor or tell me I'm a redneck or whatever. It's you, not me that is on here like an obsessed psycho everyday looking for any article pertaining to domestic cars so you can rant your same old, same old stupidity. You must use cut and paste alot. No not that, that was preschool, I'm talking about your keyboard options. UUHH kids these days.

I hope the next President wins the war quickly, then moves on to important domestic issues

AxeHead: “It's going to get worse before it gets better guys.”

Good call.

LaCaLover: “Real car enthusiasts get excited by all cars even sub-compacts!”
I disagree, but there are some subcompacts worth getting excited about.

global_lightning “I should be able to import a Peugeot 206 with minimal government red tape.” I agree.

“Pound for pound A--a is the best car brand out there.”
O, shit, that’s a good one!
Prostitute walks up to a guy, and tells him, “For $200, I’ll do anything you want, but you have to say it in three words or less.”
The guy pays her, then says “paint my house.”
I think your joke was a little bit better, 1115.

global_lightning: What A---a needs:
A large RWD or AWD V8 sedan.
A coupe based on the aforementioned sedan.
A new NSX

“Pound for pound A–a is the best car brand out there.”
O, shit, that’s a good one!
Prostitute walks up to a guy, and tells him, “For $200, I’ll do anything you want, but you have to say it in three words or less.”
The guy pays her, then says “paint my house.”
I think your joke was a little bit better, 1115.

global_lightning: What A—a needs:
A large RWD or AWD V8 sedan.
A coupe based on the aforementioned sedan.
A new NSX

I think this news is stating the obvious. America's economy is in the crapper right now. The current administration (led by a Harvard MBA, no less) has no idea how to get out of this quagmire of an economic crisis and still fund a war that has spilled the blood of 10,000s of soldiers (goodness knows how many of the 'other' side has been spilled).

Guess it's a great time to buy a car if you can afford one. I'm sure dealerships will make concessions on profit if it can get cars off the lots. (I for one will be doing so in the next month ... guess with the money saved, I can buy mods ...)

What Acura needs:
- Resurrect the RSX/Integra, a three-door $20K sports car with great fuel economy.
- Give buyers a reason to look at the TL and TSX versus the new Accord. I don't think the redesigned TL and TSX will be enough. The 'problem' is the new Accord is too good
- A TSX Sportswagon based on the Euro Accord wagon. This will fill the gap between their sedans and SUV/crossovers.
- A V10 RL instead of a bloated TL
- THE NSX. Keep the engine where it belongs: behind the passengers

One thing the government could do is reform existing fuel efficiency and safety regulation. As they are currently written, they tend to conflict with each other. Something else to consider is establishing a common standard with the European Union. This would greatly reduce production costs, increase available options, and create competition for consumers. From a Capitalistic perspective these are all good things. I should be able to import a Peugeot 206 with minimal government red tape. Likewise, European farmers may be interested in Ford F-150s

1c3d0g: Hey guess what? Real car enthusiasts get excited by all cars even sub-compacts! YOu have a very limited view of what being a car enthusiast involves.
If you had ever lived in Europe you would realise that driving a sub-compact is not just about great mileage, they are fun to drive too. YOu are just a neanderthal wannabe car enthusiast who shuts off if the car in question doesn't have a huge engine and loads of ground hugging weight.

Autonut: I don't know about you, but I don't want this side of the world to be like Europe where they drive these silly little metal boxes they call cars. Maybe I'm too much of a car enthusiast, but I_just_won't_drive one of those stupid sub-compact cars, no matter what their mileage may be. I'd rather walk, or if it's just too far, I'll grab a motorcycle.

Is the LLN writer from Bolivia? Why does he say 'that are' twice...

It's going to get worse before it gets better guys. My mutual funds are the shits, my company stock is the shits, and inflation (housing, food, gas, etc.) is going from bearable to plain stupid. The world economy is still driven by the US (I think it's in transition) and everybody's investing in real commodities (metals, land, oil, food, etc.). Wait until this hits the grocery stores and people can't buy cars cause they need to buy food, pay the rent, heat the house - remember land is going up, it costs more for the farmer to run his equipment, buy his equipment, etc. Everything runs on cheap oil and when it's not cheap anymore, everything gets more expensive. Oil price increase is a reflection of nervous investors.

No wonder nobody is buying trucks, 4x4 wranglers, or other toys - they just need something to provide basic transportation. I need a truck but at $1.15 CAD per litre in Alberta and climbing - not sure I want to buy one.

autonut: the way things are going 2.6l will be a large displacement engine again in about 10 years.

Deanster: I don't doubt the accuracy of the numbers but in all fairness the Wranglers have probably cooled off just because of the season, and as for the cars, well, even nerds sometimes get the girl.

Interesting that Chrysler's numbers were dragged down by Jeep/truck sales and the cars actually posted increased sales. That's remarkable, since all of Chrylser's car offerings are shit (the 300 is getting really old), and the Wranglers are selling like hotcakes. I wonder how accurate this info really is.

As already stated, this article is not a shock. With what money are the american people suppose to buy cars? Prices on most products continue to climb, and those of us who are still fortunate enough to have a job aren't getting paid anymore to compensate. I don't see this trend stopping anytime in the near future unfortunately.

1c3d0g, the government and it applies to ANY government can't regulate supply and demand. We the PEOPLE can. If we will start buying smaller. lighter cars that consume less fuel with continuous supply the cost will go down. In the past this formula worked well: why do you think cars of late 80's were so small compare to todays? Original mini van was a mini van with choice of 2 four cylinder engines: 2.2 & 2.6L. And it was not in Europe but here in US. This time around situation is a bot worse: add prosperity in China and India along of other more developed Asian countries and you have a lot of people who want to drive.

FYI: Honda lost 3 point in March, Nissan a bit more, but both did better then toyota.

Toyota is shown as "doing the best", but yet Nissan's and Honda's numbers weren't reported.

Toyota's sales fell less and 1% less than GM's declines for March, yet this article makes it sound like GM is on the ropes and Toyota can shrug their nearly double-digit declines off.

Oh, and the author meant "collision course", not "crash course". The former means "on the course to a collision", and the latter means, "an expedient lesson".

Of course they're down this year, even big rig truckers are feeling the pinch. The question is: what is the Government going to do about these ridiculous oil prices? Knowing this administration's policy, absolutely NOTHING! Hopefully the next President will put a lot more effort into domestic issues like our bleeding economy etc.

jackjimturkey I'm so with you on getting less and fewer right.
The first 3 posters are all paranoid, i'm surprised they are not having an apopleptic fit about the picture of a Buick in the article about geriatric drivers.

Meanwhile, Honda is +6.9 for the month, +2.8 for the year
However, Acura is -15.8 for the month, -12.9 for the year
Overall, HMC is +4.2 for the month, +0.9 for the year

Unless Acura rediscovers its reason for existence, it will continue to drag Honda's numbers down. Maybe it's time to consider shutting it down and consolidating under Honda, just like the rest of the world

I agree. I have nothing against imports but the media language is always bias. I remember a LLN article on hybrids. The first news was an article about fuel saving that hybrids offer, and a Prius was shown. Lather the same day there was an article about hybrid sales down and this time an Escape hybrid was shown. This is the USA guys, give Detroit a break. Have you ever hear a German or Japanese call their vehicles crap?

True media bias. Look at your own words,"It was GM's worst March since it kept records, with a decline of 11.4 percent from the same time last year""Toyota sold only 10.3 percent less vehicles than it did in March of 2007"
What is the differece between the two quotes.
Why don't you just pull down thier pants and kiss Toyota where you do all the time.
Why does the media hate America?
