Ahead of the official start of the Beijing Auto Show, Maybach has taken the wraps off its 2011 57 and 62 models. The new luxury sedans feature styling tweaks inside and out, as well as a more powerful – and more fuel efficient – 12-cylinder engine.
Although subtle, the Maybach’s restyled front end features a larger radiator grille, sporting a new arrow-shape. The standard Maybach 57 and 62 models feature 20 fine longitudinal grille bars while the up-level S variants of the 57 and 62 models sport 12 solid double louvers and a “shadow strut” flag. New LED running lights are also part of the 2011 upgrade.
In order to accommodate the new grille design, 2011 Maybach models also feature a redesign hood with sharper edge lines. The car’s side mirrors have been updated for 2011, as have the vehicle’s rear taillights.
The interiors of Maybach’s 57 and 62 models have been improved for the 2011 model year, with 57 and 57 S buyers now able to opt for the reclining rear seats currently only fitted to the longer 62 model. Hand-braided seat piping is on offer for the 2011 model year, as are a 19-inch cinema screen and a a wireless internet system.
2011 Maybach 57 S and 62 S models are in line for an 18 horsepower bump, with their 12-cylinder engines now producing an even 630 horsepower. Despite the increase in power, the V12 engine actually produces fewer emissions. Output for the Maybach’s standard engine remains unchanged, but its emissions are also reduced.
