Break the law and use a vehicle to do so, and depending on the crime, you may just end up forfeiting your vehicle to the government and provide a politician with a “pimp” new ride.

In the case of Tampa, Florida, Mayor Bob Buckhorn, that is exactly what happened with an alleged-pimp was busted and forfeited his 2005 GMC Yukon Denali, complete with spinners, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

When Buckhorn took office he went to the local police in search of a forfeited SUV that would provide safe and reliable transportation for his family – what he found turned out to be a pimp-mobile. Literally.

The Denali in question once belonged to Charles Melvin Fox, 37, who is currently awaiting trial while in a jail cell for five counts of sex trafficking, among numerous other charges. Fox apparently had taste fit for a pimp, equipping the Denali with large “spinners,” an aftermarket touch that went out of style in most parts of the country the better part of a decade ago.

Luckily for Buckhorn’s family and constituency, the mayor has better taste than Fox and opted to swap some factory wheels back onto the Denali before putting the 100,000 SUV in service once again, this time for good use transporting his young children.

“A product of ill-gotten gains is being put to good use,” Buckhorn said. As for Fox, Buckhorn added, “Where he’s going, he won’t need a car.”
