McLaren has released a second teaser image, along with a teaser video, of a new vehicle set to debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 27.  McLaren's mystery vehicle is believed to be a successor to its F1 supercar of the 1990s.

Although McLaren isn't dishing out any specifics, the company says “the next exciting chapter for McLaren Automotive will begin in Paris later this month.” McLaren added that it will use the Paris show “to showcase future plans, and unveil to the world its strategy to fast forward the world of automotive.”

In all likelihood McLaren's teaser imagepreviews a successor to the F1 supercar. Rumored since the launch of the McLaren MP4-12C, the automaker's new flagship will likely debut under the P12 nameplate. However, the P12 on hand in Paris might be a concept, with the production version of the supercar to follow in 2013.

Whatever the case, the P12 is expected to arrive with a version of the MP4-12C's twin-turbocharged 3.8L V8, albeit with a KERS system boosting output to 800 horsepower. Combined with a super light carbon fiber chassis, the P12 should be capable of accelerating from 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds, with the sprint to 100mph dealt with in 5.5 seconds.

The McLaren P12 will hit showrooms sometime in 2014 with an estimated price of $1.56 million.
