McLaren reveals 600LT Longtail with 592 horsepower

The limited-production model features increased power, reduced weight and improved aerodynamics.

McLaren has revealed the 600LT, the latest limited-production variant inspired by the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail.

The fourth model to carry the Longtail name represents the fastest, most powerful and most track-focused Sports Series car in McLaren's lineup.

Engineers have retuned the company's 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 to deliver 592 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. Nearly a quarter of parts have been changed compared to the standard 570S coupe, resulting in a modest weight savings of more than 210 pounds.

Complementing the extra power, the 600LT features an extended front splitter, lengthened rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing for greater downforce.

The stretched profile brings a unique look to the latest Longtail. The distinct appearance is further reinforced by a pair of top-exit exhaust pipes.

Production will be "strictly limited," with pricing to be announced at a later date.
