yes s class drop top but please keep it an S class with S class look. dont make it look like the concept, its ugly.

i think the Production Car will look much like the concept-car minus the frontlights… and taking those lights away, the ocean drive is nothing but a lofty droptop version of the s-class…

chrysler didnt make a 4door convertible… it was a company called ASC making the Helios, which is BASED on the 300C. Its like saying Ford built THE AC Cobra, just because Shelby used a Ford engine…

then, i read people speaking of a 4 door maybach, or a maybach limo… how many doors does your common maybach have? and what do you consider the Maybach 62 if not a limo?

Maybach was considering a convertible, but the market prooved NOT to want it… so now, if the very same people who would buy a maybach convertible will buy the S-Class convertible, who cares? Lucky MB for having the right brand for everything…

global_lightning, Lincoln had that opportunity with their Continental show car a few years back.. and I would have gladly been first in line for that! Unfortunately, in the few years since that Continental concept debuted, Ford apparently brought all RWD Lincoln development to a screeching halt, Chrysler stole the show with the almost production-ready 300C convertible concept (which M-B adapted to their S-class above before dumping Chrysler), and Bentley happily gilded three of their new models with the Continental tag, rendering it unusable for Lincoln.

I’m also pretty sure the wrangler has enough of a roof-type structure to not technically be considered a convertible.

Somebody wake up the guys at Lincoln. Forget the XKZRSABCDEFG. Give me a 4-door with suicides in back, chrome-plate everything, pneumatic cloud suspension, and a convertible top the size of a small parachute. And call it the C O N T I N E N T A L.
I guess it goes without mention the last time MB made a sedan convertible, Germany was in the middle of the 3rd Reich…
