Our spy photographers have spotted prototypes of Mercedes‘ updated C-Class sedan roaming the streets of Germany, but the automaker’s UK arm has fully outed the 2011 refresh on the company’s Web site. The current Mercedes-Benz C-Class launched in 2007, making it time for the car’s mid-cycle refresh.
Changes to the updated 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class include new headlights, a new front bumper and a new hood. The rear also to features a new set of lights and some modifications to the bumper.
Underhood we’re expecting a few tweaks, but the leaked images were not accompanied by any technical specs. However, a new BluTec diesel option is expected, as are more direct-injection gas engine models. The C-Class’ interior gets a spit and polish, but don’t expect a huge divergence from the current model.
The updated C-Class will go on sale during the first half of 2010, just months before the all-new BMW 3-Series and the revised Audi A4 and Infiniti G37.

Honestly, the only reason this car sells is because it has the mercedes badge on it! You could put honda/vw/ford/chevy/chrysler or any other badge, and it would never seem possible that it was originally a mercedes!

I see these all over Toronto, they’re everywhere! It seems far more popular than the last C-Class.
I’m bored of these ‘mid cycle refreshes’ where you really, REALLY have to have the cars side by side to notice the slight differences. Mercedes and Honda are the worst offenders of this.

I’m a fan of Benz’s upmarket offerings, so I wanted to like the new C when it first arrived. I thought it looked pretty sharp, especially when compared to the previous model, and especially when dressed in full AMG trim. However, having personally cross-shopped a C, a 3, and an A4, I can tell you that Mercedes still has a lot of catching up to do in terms of ride & handling, refinement, and interior quality. It doesn’t look like they’ve made any alterations that are sufficient enough to change my mind.

They need to get more power out of their 3.5L. The C350 with only 268 HP is a dog compared to the G37, IS350 and 335i sport sedans it competes against.

This is NOT a midlife cycle refresh. This isn’t a facelift. It’s just a running change of adding LEDs to the front to bring the C class more in-line with the rest of the MB lineup. Look for the facelift to be revealed next year with new headlights and actually an interior with a fixed command screen.

If this was the only new Merc I could afford I wouldn’t bother.

So will the top non-AMG model actually have some balls this time around or not?
Doesn’t the SLK have 300 horses or something?

Now the G37’s facelift was a facelift – this is a touchup at best.
I wouldn’t know why a person would buy this if they could afford the G37 or even a TSX – I’d seriously consider an IS before this too. If it weren’t for the Mercedes badge -it would never sell.

Since Daimler doesn’t have Chrysler to milk for cash, a new bumper was all the refresh they could swing…
