Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition

If there was a way to top the CL65, Mercedes-Benz would find a way to do it. But if it wasn't for the German automaker's in-house performance division, AMG, there wouldn't be a CL65 in the first place.

In honor of AMG, an acronym for the two founders' last names and the town where the tuner was created (Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach), the CL65 40th Anniversary Edition celebrates the 1967 birth of one of the most famous three letter combinations in the automotive world.

To celebrate the achievement, the now-Mercedes-owned AMG will release a limited-edition model painted in a special Alubeam paint, heretofore used only in show cars. The Alubeam paint designed to give the car a liquid metal gleam that would not otherwise be possible with standard paint.

Inside, the CL65 gets two-tone Nappa leather trim and a 'one out of 40' badge.

Standard features include ventilated seats, Night View Assist, adaptive cruise control, 14-way seat adjustment, nine airbags, an active and driver-adjustable suspension and Mercedes' latest COMAND audio and navigation system.
