Packing Mercedes' 5.5L twin-turbocharged V8, the hopped up grocery getter comes standard with 525 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Those figures are good enough for a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
Both models shift via Mercedes' 7-speed sports transmission, allowing for a very respectable combined mileage of 23mpg.
Other than its honking powertrain, lowered and tightened suspension and AMG-exclusive design and interior cues, the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will share its body and interior with the recently-unveiled CLS Shooting Brake. The AMG model does, however, have a few unique styling touches, including "V8 BITURBO" badging, an AMG-specific rear apron with diffuser and, our personal favorite, an optional American cherry wood luggage compartment floor which is highlighted in the video.
The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will likely be off limits to North American buyers, but European shoppers could see the high-performance wagon in showrooms by the end of 2012. Production of the car is slated to begin this October.
