2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR “722 Edition”

07/10/2006, 8:44 AM

By admin

Mercedes has unveiled a new special edition SLR called the “722 Edition.” The car has increased output of 650 horsepower, a tailor-made suspension configuration, and a decidedly sporty interior. 722 Edition” is a homage by Mercedes-Benz to the unforgettable victory won by the British racing legend Stirling Moss and his co-driver Denis Jenkinson in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722 (indicating a start time of 7.22 a.m.) at the Mille Miglia in 1955. The car accelerates from standstill to 62 mph in only 3.6 seconds, and 124 mph is reached in just 10.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 209 mph. Gallery after the jump…

Thank you MB, my SLR did feel kind of weak with only 650hp, quite the yawner. Now I can trade my slothmobile for a 722 Edition!!

Yeah, the rims are kind of ugly. Get some BBS-type forged rims.

actually #4, it went from 612 (SAE) to 650, if you took the time to read one short paragraph you’d see it doesn’t have 722 HP.

****ty rims, out of a National Tire and Battery catalog!! YIKES!
Also, how many SLR owners would give their cars to a tuner to mess with? That **** better have a 15 year warranty at least, we’re talking about half a mil for the stock car baby. Someone messes with half a mil of mine and they’ll be payin in blood.

Wickedated, this isnt built by a tuner, it’s straight from MB. and i think it’s a 2 year warranty, i may be wrong.

This car is beautiful. All of the new styling made it look mean and more aggresive. Odd choice in rims, they look like tuner rims. But overall sweet car.

I love it overall.

This car is excellent beyond supreme however…if you tune the car i expect different looks which has been done and decent gap between the top speeds. 208(for the old SLR and 209 for the new one is dissapointing…a lie??

Who cares if it’s illegal, take the licence plate of the front. A supercar should be about sex appeal so don’t let something ruin the looks!!
