Mercedes-Benz has made its all-new GLK mini-off roader its show star at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas. First, we bring you live images of the subtle, Brabus-modified GLK, one of four SEMA customs the German carmaker distributed to tuners to customize for the show.
Through partnerships with tuners throughout the country, Mercedes is showing off four custom GLKs at this year’s SEMA Show.
The first is a love-it-or-hate-it convertible design by Boulevard Customs. Dubbed the Urban Whip, the custom job clearly included the removal of the SUV’s roof, but Boulevard Customs has spruced up the GLK with a one-off body kit, monstrous 26 inch wheels and a SEMA-loud sound system.
For fans of the Pike’s Peak hill climb, RENNTech will be showing of its unlimited-class-inspired Rally Racer. RENNTech’s creation sports a unique body kit and a flight-ready rear wing, but other details remain scarce on the Rally Racer.
Legendary Motor Cars’ GLK, called the Four Corners Rock Crawler, was designed with off-road in mind, despite the fact that most GLKs will never leave the comfy confines of paved roads. The rugged GLK features plenty of off road goodies, and even some other fun stuff, such as a side rail for skateboard grinding.
The final – and tamest – GLK to make an appearance at the SEMA Show will be Brabus’ Widestar. The Widestar started off life as a fairly sedate diesel-powered GLK 320 BlueTEC, but now has a little more under the hood thanks to Brabus. The Widestar also sports a body kit and special wheels. SEMA isn’t the most photo-conducive auto show on the circuit, but you should have no problem seeing the subtlety to the black GLK’s customizations.
