From what I've seen the upcoming model seems blander than this outgoing one. We'll just wait for the rags and complains when they release the official pics in the near future.

@A4,

Do not worry, they will "screw the quality" as you suggest. The big question is how much worse it will be than what you can buy now.

lol- the GL and R have attributed to substantial sales for Mercedes. They overtook BMW in the units sold tally this year. Those two models were a big part of that.
Although I agreee that too many models dilutes the prestige of the marquee at the end oof the day the company is trying to increase units sold. With the influx of more units sold the company can do more blah blah blah stuff.

The C-Class definitely has to come back with some fire under the hood, stupendous quality and a reasonable price. There is too much competition to the C for Mercedes to be conservative here. I hope they get it right

i agree with asher - the GL is unneccessary, as is the disgusting R-class, although it is growing on me as a weird niche segment and a ballsy move usually not explored by a company as conservative as mercedes. The only thing i disagree with is the "quality" of the SL... which has been famously poor for this generation, although it is getting slightly better.

Thank god, this C-class series, as opposed to its predecessor, was a complete donkey-looking POS and was a huge component to why Mercs rep has been seriously downgraded. Same with the current E-class and CLK vs its predecessor. Now it appears Merc is back on the right track with no sharing of platforms with Chrysler, high-quality S, SL, CL and CLS models and now hopefully some well-styled and well-built new C/CLK and E-classes. Now they just need to dump some of their SUV models like the hideous R-class and stop making their GL 450 a clone of Lexus' LX450/470...and they will truly be BACK to what they once were...

screw the quality lets hope it looks anywhere near as aggressive as the A4, G35, or 3-series. This generation C-class has always been the buick of compact sport sedans.
