Mercedes confirms drop-top SLR plans

02/16/2007, 10:51 AM

By admin

Mercedes has officially confirmed it will build a convertible version of the McLaren SLR, according to a published report. Zero to 60 mph will take under four seconds, and a top speed of 200 mph will still be possible.

The SLR roadster will arrive this summer, with a possible debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, according to The Car Connection.

The new model will closely resemble the Mercedes-Benz Vision SLR concept (pictured), which debuted at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show, nine months after the coupe prototype was unveiled at the Detroit auto show.

Good news for all of us who have $400,00+ laying around, lol. Looks good, I just hate the huge controls under the nav.

My gawd, how many filthy-rich bastards are out there??? Seems like all the car companies are focusing on these days are uber-expensive sports cars.

Perhaps I should be a drug dealer or something.

What a beautiful concept! That thing is almost ten years old and it still looks modern.

This’ll be sexy when it’s built.

bb_454 these pics are from the concept car around 7 years ago. It’s probably safe to assume the dash will look similar to the hardtop since this interior is so dated.
