Daimler Chrysler is trying to decide whether to sell a new sedan positioned between the Mercedes S600 and Maybach 57 as a bigger Mercedes or smaller Maybach , according to DCX chairman Dieter Zetsche.
Rival BMW announced at the Paris Motor Show it had decided to build a new entry-level Rolls-Royce positioned between the BMW 760Li and Rolls-Royce Phantom .
Zetsche told the U.K.’s AutoExpress Daimler Chrysler has not yet decided if it wants to fill the gap, but “obviously, there is some space between the price range of the current Maybach and the top Mercedes.”
