Recently, Mercedes-Benz announced the 2007 Mercedes CLS 63, CLK 63, E63 AMG, and R63 models. They replace the company’s 55-series AMG models, featuring a new 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated AMG-specific engine. The 63-series models are expected to be the range-toppers for several model lines, but according to a report by Automedia Mercedes also plans to offer a CLS 65 AMG. The ’65′ engine is a 612 horsepower bi-turbo V12, currently offered in the S-Class and SL-Class. It is widely expected to be offered with the 2007 CL-Class, in the form of the CL 65 AMG. But should Mercedes also offer this engine with the CLS? No other model will have both ’63′ and ’65′ models. Too much diversification and confusion? You decide…
