Mazda’s bottom end car in the early 80s was the GLC. Stood for Great Little Car. In MB’s case it stands for Guaranteed Lemon Car.

There doesn’t seem to be any substance to this post. Trademark activity can mean anything, and to say that because the ‘C’ means coupe equals new crossover?… I dunno. If you’re right then you get to gloat, but for now I say that this article is pointless

Mazda was the first thing I thought of as well. The Mazda GLC was a crappy little subcompact sold until about 1983. Not the image M-Benz wants to invoke.

I’m old enough to remember the Mazda GLC.

I seem to recall they marketed it as the “Good Looking Car” in some of their ads.

Renton, agreed. My issue with these “SAV”s is not their functionality but their abhorrent looks – I have yet to see one attractive “crossover” prototype from ANY manufacturer – they just look plain silly and stupid to me…

Mercedes has around 15 different vechicles now. This is plain stupid and is just deluting the brand. They need to –

A-Class – Change to smart

B-Class – Kill or change to smart

C-Coupe – Kill

C-Class – Start at C240 V6

CLK – Change to suicide four door like Mazda RX8

SLK – Keep the same concept just let AMG make it possibly under their own name and more sportier like Porsche.

GLK – Make and keep

E-class – keep

CLS – Keep as is with a possible convertible version.

SL – Again like the SLK Keep the same concept just let AMG make it to compete with 911.

M-class – Keep as is just better on road and off

G-Class – Make a proper 7 seater for 7 proper adults.

S-Class – Give it more personality

CL – Make it look more classy.

SLR – Let AMG make it
