Free speech has its draw backs…Neo-Nazis and Michael Moore. Leave it to this Socialist-Leftist to bash America every chance he gets. The real problem here is why are his comments even reported as news! I hope people are smart enough to see through this guy and all his supporters, who wish to rob us of all our freedoms! If you want to live in a poor, weak, broke, defenseless, socialist nation…move to Canada. They don’t have a car company!

layoffs stink.

but so do fat stupid liberals with big mouths.

and automaking is, last i checked, a business. GM needs to become profitable, and the way to do that is cutting factories. Say what you will about the reasons, but this is what it’s come to.

michael moore can’t do anything for anyone except make a few bucks for himself, so i wish he would just shut up and go away, instead of “inspiring” legions of people who can’t think for themselves.

I completely agree that GM is making poor cars, though they have been getting better. I haven’t bought one in decades. My issue is with irresponsible statements such as “was intended to “paralyze�? the employees, so they could not “climb out of their depression�? to fight back.�?

I don’t think there is a “good” time to deliver this kind of news.

The guy has a few points – the build quality of GM cars has been downright apalling for a long time, and this breakdown has been 20 years coming, mainly because GM has continued making rubbish cars.

Also, it’s a known fact that PR machinery does a lot of thinking about when they make announcements like this. They *could* easily have done it after thanksgiving, and at least give the employees a long week-end of rest and all that before dumping them in the manure. Then again, announcements like this – regardless of their reason – never come at a ‘convenient’ time.
