Most I would spend on a mini s is about $27k, and that is with the 2k GPS with real time traffic, HID headlamps and other stuff. They are expensive because they keep the supply low, but, they do hold their value very well, and their reliability is very good, surprising for a BMW.

But, as already mentioned, a G35 would be more fun for sure, and look better. And those have no reliability or resale value issues either.

I’m sure Ktulu would choose this over a 128i, 328 or a G35S. I think it’s a cool car, but the price is too high for me.

for 34k you could buy a G35S sedan and smoke the shit out of this thing while riding in more luxury or buy a new EVO GSR with options, the list goes on and on as to why this car is a monumentally stupid decision. Oh and if it makes any difference Top Gear rated the Mini Clubman the ugliest car of 2007 or 08 and also mentioned it as one of the ugliest cars ever made.

Hmmm…. $34K “as tested?” Why would someone pick this over a rear-wheel drive BMW 128i Coupe?

Yes, it’s going to be a bit faster (but not by much). I guess if the buyer needs 4 doors and requires a small package this would make sense.

Otherwise…??

I think BMW is making a very large profit on this vehicle!! For around the same amount of money, a 128i or even a 328 sedan makes a lot more sense.
