Through a collaboration with Allstate Roadside Services, MINI has become the first automaker to offer a roadside assistant application for the Apple iPhone and select BlackBerry devices. The new app can be downloaded free of charge by any MINI owner.
Upon downloading the app, MINI owners enter their vehicle I.D. number, name, address and even have the option to upload a picture of their MINI. That information is then stored, saving time when roadside assistance is needed.
In the event of a flat tire or any other roadside event, MINI owners can simply hit the call button on the roadside app, select the service needed and the phones GPS system will relay the vehicle’s location to the proper authorities.
“MINI owners appreciate technological innovation and will welcome the additional peace of mind that comes from having fast, easy access to the free roadside services provided during their warranty period,” said Jim McDowell, Vice President MINI USA.
The roadside service will work for all MINI vehicles, although those out of warranty will be responsible for any service fees.
