I like the idea. Put the mini on a weight diet. Give it a diesel engine for the US as well.

Agreed with removing backseats and shortening. Leave the little 4 banger in place and it will destroy the Smartcar. IT’s a good idea.

This idea might/probably will fly in Europe, but I’m not sure it will play well in the U.S. market.

well the Smart is severely overpriced so why shouldnt this be? You can get an Aveo for thousands less than a Smart – and while they arent as stylish at least they have four cylinders and some basic comforts standard

If Mini would resurrect ‘59 original it would be it. And save a pile of dough on R&D. It was fun car to drive and equally unreliable as the current one.

Shouldnt be too difficult to do. Remove back seat and shorten. Done.
Knowing that it is a Mini means it will be overpriced though.
