Johnnycanuck,

Yes, you are correct! There is a Ralliart model but it is not in the Southeastern Press fleet...at least at this moment. The Manufacturers send cars to the corners of the world for the media to evaluate and they have companies whose job is to deliver them to us. This was the car in the fleet at this time.

But, I guess they felt guilty, because they immediately followed with the Lancer Evolution GSR. Look for that review later this week!

Whatever identity the Galant used to possess is gone; this 'updated' 2009 versions styling looks liked a dated mish-mash of every sedan that was on the road a few years ago. The bottom line is that Mitsubishi needs to get a completely redesigned Galant in the showrooms soon and it better be able to compete with Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Mazda.

The only way Mitsu is going to be able to sell this current generation Galant is to either pray that stupid people who know nothing about cars will buy one or offer huge discounts to those who just want anonymous, basic, albeit dated transportation.

melias: how did you end up testing the 4 banger model? If it's just what Mitsu gave you then I'm at a bit of a loss to understand why. If I'm not mistaken there's a 258 horse Ralliart model available that would have to be more entertaining than this.

Poor Mitsubishi... they have so much potential they need to just make better competing cars. they can obviously do it, they're just not.
