Mitsubishi prices 2010 Lancer Sportback models

08/07/2009, 11:28 AM

By Drew Johnson

Mitsubishi has officially announced U.S. pricing for its Lancer Sportback models. Set to hit dealers on August 17th, the 2010 Lancer Sportback GTS will list from $19,190. The addition of a CVT transmission will bump that price to $20,190. The up-level and performance oriented Ralliart model will sticker from $27,590.

Mitsubishi will offer the Sportback in two levels – 168-horsepower GTS and 237-horsepower turbocharged Ralliart. The GTS model features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and comes with your choice of a five-speed manual or CVT. Ralliart aims for the Subaru Impreza 2.5GT with a 2.0-liter turbo four with all-wheel-drive and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission from the Lancer Evolution.

Ralliart, derived from the Lancer Ralliart sedan, also adds a 140-watt CD/MP3 audio system (700-watt Rockford-Fosgate CD changer audio is optional) in addition to a sports suspension and unique trim. Recaro-branded sports seats are also available on the Ralliart.

The Sportback will join the Lancer Sedan and Lancer Evolution in Mitsubishi showrooms on August 17th.

I like hatch better then sedan ( I reckon I have hatch fetish), but I can’t imagine this car being comfortable to drive in. Very high belt line, low seating position combined with blind spots – disaster of ergonomics.

This car looks like complete crap! It’s like they ran out of R&D money for the rear end!

The proportions on the car make it look odd. I LOVE the idea they had but they probably should have went hog wild and made it a wagon.

Instead it look like a Volvo V40 wagon with a poorly done cosmetic surgery job on the back.

Front looks great, back looks great, 3/4 view, ugh!

Very impressive look, not like a typical Mitsubishi at all. It looks like a cross between an Audi and a VW GTI with a high end, Euro-looking style. They finally ditched that ricer boy look. I wonder what the interior looks like.

“Hatch Fetish”…. (shudder) Yikes ;) ……. I was thinking that’s a steal compared to Subaru’s price or some of its other competitors…

carmaster4ever, your dreaming, With the looks of this car, it will scare off customers from the brand because this thing looks like an orphan child that was badly mistreated. Even Angelina and Brad couldn’t have love for this thing.

They should fix the taillights that are circa 1992, and then it’ll look pretty solid.

We’ve had this Sportback in Canada for a year now and I can tell you that it’s ugly. It is rare to see it on the roads in Toronto. They could have done better styling on it. The rear doesn’t match the aggressive front.

Pretty much 99.9% of new cars are fugly. They all have lots of blind spots with their tiny
windows. There must be a new world war coming with all this tank -slit window styling.
My next vehicle will be a pick-up so I can see the traffic around me.You can keep your pos
sportback.
