Mitsubishi Motors has just lifted the veil off of two new Infiniti M-based sedans, filling two slots in its lineup that have been empty for over a decade.

The first, dubbed Proudia, is based on the regular Infiniti M that is sold in Europe and in the United States. The biggest aesthetic differences between the two cars are that the front grille has been redesigned to be more in-line with Mitsubishi's design language and that it comes with brand-specific rim designs.

The Proudia is available with two Nissan-sourced V6 engines, a 2.5-liter unit that churns out 225 horsepower and a 3.7-liter mill that is rated at 333 horsepower. Both are offered with a seven-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels, though 3.7-liter buyers with extra cash can order the car with all-wheel drive.

Called Dignity, the second sedan is based on the long-wheelbase variant of the Infiniti M that is not currently offered in the United States and will be the flagship of the Mitsubishi brand for the coming years. Much like the Proudia, the biggest difference inside and out is a set of Mitsubishi emblems and a different grille with vertical slants.

The Dignity is only available with a Nissan-sourced hybrid drivetrain that is found in the Infiniti M35h. It consists of a 3.5-liter V6 that works in conjunction with an electric motor to make a total of 364 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque.

Both cars are scheduled to hit Mitsubishi showrooms throughout Japan before the end of the month. The Proudia will start at 4,022,000 yen (about $50,500) and top out at 5,553,000 yen (roughly $69,700) while the range-topping Dignity will retail for 8,400,000 yen (approximately $105,500).

At the time of writing Mitsubishi does not plan on selling either sedan outside of its home country of Japan.

Signed several months ago, the agreement between Mitsubishi and Nissan is not just one-sided. Mitsubishi provides Nissan with a license to build and sell several tiny kei cars, including the eK Wagon, Minicab and the Pajero Mini.
