Actually kind of surprising. Mitsu was in a pretty bad way, with the recall scandal, etc.

Good one! How can you not cheer on the underdog that still manages to race FIA WRC and Paris-Dakar?

Isn’t it interesting that less than 2 years after DCX unloaded its share of Mitsu, it’s a profitable company. Great decision making at Auburn Hills, keep it up retards. BRING BACK IACOCCA!!!

Wow! That Pajero really looks like the new FORD Edge.
I wonder who came up with that front design first.

‘Profits’ – the kind of word you want to hear from someone trying to sell you something that costs more than a few hundred dollars. Congrats.

Mitsubishi came up with it first. Im excited to see it looks like theyll be sticking around the US, the new lancer was worth the wait.

Jazz Mitsu doesnt have the same problems of Ford and Chyrsler. Mitsu just got in over their heads with a lot of bad auto loans earlier in the decade, not to mention the latest Galant wasnt a good follow-up the the successful previous generation…..Now Ford and Chrysler, just too many eggs in one basket(trucks) and no alternative until was almost too late. There are more in depth factors, but u can get the point.

I can hear the wheels turning in the brains of some of these dorks who were saying that Mitsu is on the way out. Quick… think of an explanation before you look dumb…

The other interesting thing is that Mitsubishi have launched a new line of 4WD’s in this time period, despite a lot of people avoiding them due to fuel price concerns.

Mitusbishi are on the verge of pulling out of america and only getting bigger in europe and japans. Which is good and bad.

Either way anyone that blame DCX for their misfortunes are plain stupid when you consider that the cars currently coming out of mitsubishi are the cars designed under DCX and will remain this way for at least te next 3 to 4 years. After that Mitsu will be completely free from DCX and will have to survive on their own.

This is proof that there is still life after a painful but needed separation with Daimler Chrysler. If Daimler spins off Chrysler to an able management who knows what consumers want.

Stuart you’re such a dumbass. DCX has ripped parts from Mitsu. Not the other way around. Those engines rnuning in your precious Caravan’s were Mitsu’s. And to tell ya the truth DCX blows compared to Mitsu. Hands down. Eclipse over Talon. 3000GT over Stealth. See the pattern retard? Even the Raider is some much better looking then the Dakota. It’s a shame it doesn’t sell better. I’d love one for hauling **** around.

Idiots at DCX. They just can wait to make profits out of their investments, and sell them too early.

After Daimler sells Chrysler…
Chrysler and Mitsubishi should partner up like Nissan-Renault

although i hear Nissan has made its first loss in 7 years…
Does Carlos have to return to Japan?

Chrysler and MM partnering up??

What, like the 1970’s??, the 1980’s??, the 1990’s?? The plant in Normal Ill.??, Diamond-Star Motors?? The current ‘World Engine’ plant in Trenton, Mich.?? The Colt, Stealth, Cricket, Scamp, Challenger (80’s version), Conquest, Arrow, Avenger (90’s), D-50 Pickup, and, wait, the current Dakota is also sold as a Mitshi…

Been there, tried that…

I remember any time you saw a Chrysler minivan burning oil it had the Mitsubishi 3 liter in it. I know you guys are fanboys by the way you get aroused to any good news about Japanese car companies and or bad news about American companies. Seriously. I love all cars so you can’t say im biased towards any country. But you guys who get off on starting arguments over how good or bad a company is doing is pretty pathetic. Just kills a good topic.

Stuart wrote: “but no foreign investor can purchase more then a third of a car company in Japan.”
…but Renault owns 44% of Nissan. (So are we supposed to subtract Nissan’s 15% ownership of Renault?)
And what about the Japanese big rig makers? Isn’t Volvo Truck trying to buy most of UD/Nissan Diesel, and doesn’t DCX still own most of Mitsubishi Fuso?
I’ve heard about that rule Stuart mentioned before, but I don’t think it’s 1/3rd. I mean, Ford owns slightly OVER one-third of Mazda, and that’s the majority (over 50%) of Mazda’s voting shares. Clarify!
