Looking to take advantage of growing foreign markets, Chrysler has announced the establishment of Mopar parts distribution centers in Shanghai and Dubai. The facilities will support Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat brands.
The move includes a 16,000 sq. meter facility in Shanghai and a 18,000 sq. meter facility in Dubai. Additionally, Chrysler will open 12 Mopar Express Lanes throughout the Middle East.
“With the opening of these two facilities, we are expanding our parts distribution network in order to fully support the growth taking place in these markets,†said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “As our vehicle brands continue to grow internationally, Mopar will continue to look for opportunities to effectively service our dealers and distributors, and ultimately our customers.â€
Both warehouses were built in Free Trade Zones, allowing for international shipping. Mopar’s Shanghai location will serve as a referral point for other Mopar warehouses in South Korea, Japan, and Australia while the Dubai warehouse will service the Middle East and Africa.
On the whole, Mopar’s 50 parts distribution centers support more than 120 markets.
