Spy photographers caught a two new images of the 2007/2008 BMW M3 coupe in testing. A similar car was spotted by another photographer earlier this month. With the release of the 2007 BMW 3-Series Coupe imminent, it appears BMW is already testing the hotrod version of that car. Previously, the test cars were believed to be test mules — meaning they do not reflect the final body style of the car. However, further investigation suggests that this is indeed the new M3. Germany’s Autobild has reported the new M3 would get a unique body style from the standard coupe. This now appears to be incorrect. The car can be distinguished from a standard 3-Series by its widened fenders, quad tailpipes, and (covered) side gills. The widened fenders on the test cars are not typical of a test mule. Rather, they appear to be production-spec. The headlights could have a different shape from the regular coupe, but the camouflage makes it hard to tell. (Front View | Rear View).
