More driving trouble for Britney Spears

05/17/2006, 11:31 AM

By admin

Spy photogra… err… Paparazzi caught Britney Spears driving in a Mini Cooper convertible with her baby in the back seat. The problem is, her baby is under the age of 12 months, meaning he should be in a rear-facing seat. Britney’s PR people attempted to explain the incident by stating “rear-facing seats are only required if the infant is not more than 20 lbs.” However, several observers indicate that the regulation applies to babies under 1 year old or under 20 lbs. Previously, Spears got in trouble for driving her SUV with her baby on her lap.

no to mention that a convertible soft top isn’t the safest thing for a baby… sensitive ears could be damaged by the wind buffeting – though i guess that would prevent him from having to hear his mother sing. god forbid she rolls the thing, even with the safety features of a convertible things like gravel, road debris, bits of the car could easily injure the child.

How is this automotive news?!? C’mon LLN, please don’t stoop to the paprazzi & ragazines level. WE DO NOT CARE HERE. If I wanted that crap “news”, I would look at a crap website. Keep it REAL for the REAL enthusiasts and those interested in GOOD news stories.

Now that I am off of my soapbox…What I don’t get is you cannot put sunblock on babies, and that baby is clearly not wearing a hat or anything. She is an idiot. Not that I care. He will grow up to be a drug addict and a loser anyway.

This is what I hate about small sports cars in the US. The original Mini Cooper was such a cool car. This convertible is taking the Mini the way of the New VW Beetle.

I’m a fan of the Miata too ( basically a modern 1960s Lotus Elan ) but that too kinda fell into the ‘girls’ car category. Kudos to those who disagree. Like I said, I like the miata.

Why don’t you leave her alone with her baby. I never liked her as artist or whatsoever, but leave her alone: that’s her baby and she is responsible, not the government or idiotic law makers. Enough following stupid regulations. One idiot came up with an idea that 20LB and over is OK and we keep cheering? I personally don’t trust any of them.
