I've owned two Mustang GTs (1998 and 2001). I put over 50K hard miles in each of them (the '01 spent some time at the track in driving schools). The only trouble I had was the driver's window came out of alignment on the '98. Good workmanship? Nope. Great chassis dynamics? Nope. Refined? Nope. Reliable? You bet. I used and abused both of them and they never complained. The majority of the people who knock Ford do it because they have some irrational hatred towards American cars.

I'm now driving an '04 TL 6 speed. Good car but I've had multiple trips to the dealer for non-functioning windows (they tend to get stuck in the down position), power mirrors stopped working when the car had less than 5K miles, more rattles than I can count now (49K miles) and endless issues with the front end vibrating when the outside temperature drops below 60 degrees. I still like my TL, the engine is perfect and the 6 speed shifts beautifully but it has been less reliable than either of my Mustangs.

If some of you just want to complain about Ford on here, why even read anything about Ford at all? Don't you consider that a waist of time to read about what some of you seem to consider "garbage?" As for the GT500 being a "disappointment" when it comes out, the previous model Cobras were far from a disappointment. They could compete with Corvettes. Now, the GT500 is made by SVT AND Carroll Shelby. I think it will be far from a disappointment. Anyway, how many of you have cars that have over 500 horsepower and suspension that's been modified by people with racing experience? As for "dime a dozen" Mustangs, can you really blame Ford for taking advantage of a car that they have had success with? Seems to me that they made a car that appeals to a lot of people. GT and SVT Mustangs for performance enthusiasts, and 6 cylinder Mustangs for the average Joe. Heaven forbid that the range of models appeals to a broad range of people. As for #13, have you payed any attention to how many Mustangs have sold? Mustang sales exceeded Ford's expectations. Sounds like this "muscle car" isn't doing so bad.

I think the big three should really let the muscle car stuff go and focus more on a car that appeal to a broader range of customers not just muscle car enthusiast.

Prices for everything is based on how much they have to sell and what people will pay. I'm surprised people are willing to pay so much for a version of a $25,000 car that has no obvious disdinction from the cheaper model...

#5 Have you actually seen a Ford GT. Maybe they have great performance potential, but what does that do for you if you can't be sure whether or not the chassis is going to snap when driving at its limits, nevermind the fact the body panels don't line up and numerous have been purchased back by ford due to quality issues.

I agree with you anonymous, but I hear the Fusion sucks in crash tests. If that weren't important, I'd agree that its a more than decent car.

What a bunch of fuddy duddies. The Mustang GT is a nice car. The GT(40) is an amazing car, and while the Fusion may not be anywhere near a Camry or Accord it isn't a bad car by any stretch. Admidditenly the Focus needs to catch up to it's European counterpart, and the SUV's are getting old and annoying.

yeah this bold moves advertising campaign is said to be prognosticating ford's great future ahead of them, well it would be nice if they came out with something decent. the mustang concept was soooo nice, when the production model came out i was very disappointed. i also thought the fusion would be a nice car, it sucks. if the mustang gt500 is priced the same as a corvette then i would be even more disappointed. make your decisions ford, nobody like waiting..
