Porsche Cayenne, Macan coupes still possible
Porsche hasn't ruled out building coupe variants of its Cayenne and Macan crossovers, according to Automotive News. It's unclear whether the so-called coupes would have two doors, or if they'd arrive with a four-door layout and a fastback-like roof line in the vein of the BMW X6.
AMG 53 line coming next year
Mercedes-AMG will expand its ever-growing line-up next year with a model line called 53. The nameplate will be inaugurated by the CLS53. 53-badged cars will be more powerful than the 43-badged variants, and they'll receive a straight-six engine with a 48-volt electrical system. Porsche again hints at more electric cars
Porsche has again hinted its electric car offensive won't stop at the Mission E. "We have to check if it makes sense for Porsche to come with an SUV. But the so-called Mission E isn't going to be the last project in electro-mobility. We will continue. That's very, very clear," said company boss Oliver Blume.
Ford finds engine problem with Focus RS
Ford has admittedly early examples of the Focus RS suffer from an engine problem. Affected cars burn coolant, which causes white smoke to come out of the exhaust. That's normally a tell-tale sign of a blown headgasket. Ford has already replaced several engines, according to Autocar, and it's working on a permanent fix.
Jailed Volkswagen exec could ask to serve sentence in Germany
Former Volkswagen executive Oliver Schmidt could ask the U.S. Department of Justice to serve his seven-year prison sentence in Germany, according to Automotive News. The request would have to be approved by authorities in both countries.
