why does the coupe version have 20 kms/h more in the original (i mean without any modification) car’s top speed?
i love how this car looks with the spoiler, it gives it a mean look that would make any racer shit his pants when it comes to racing this car…

heck of a car, but in my opinion, and I’m not American, the DTM treatment does look ricer. The spoiler is awful, and a functional spoiler does not have to look like that, it can be shaped to accomodate the lines of the car or make it a retractable spoiler like the Carrera’s.

Work of art, prefered the coupe – power delivery was brutal and handling was sublime, but can see the appeal of a rag top – Especially in Monaco.

Why do Yanks call everything with a wing ‘rice’? Its German! And it’s functional. Do you point at a Lotus Exige and call it Rice?? Mind you, decent car’s are all illegal in the states anyway… Even the F430 had to be granted special dispensation to be sold there

this thing is 350k USD. the SL 65 AMG is 186k USD. But the SL only reaches 60 in 4.2 secs. in my opinion i’d rather save the 160k. yet there are only 100 CLK DTMs produced. what do you guys think?

But they certainly could’ve picked a wing that feels congruent to the design of the car. At the very least paint the damn thing silve so it doesn’t look as obtrusive.

Gentlemen who suggested they “lose the ricer wing:”
at 187 (or 225) mph, this racecar needs everything it can get to stick it to the ground. This isn’t exactly like strapping a double-surface aluminum wing on a 140 hp FWD Cavalier.
Being inspired by the DTM racecars (which, by the way, have MUCH larger wings), it isn’t surprising that they chose that type (or size) of spoiler.
In other words, it isn’t there to MAKE it look fast. The car already IS fast.
In my opinion this should have been equipped with a retractable hardtop instead of the ragtop.

The Tach has a digital needle or bar and the speedo needle runs in a tiny slot between the speedo numbers and the tach numbers
