Morgan AeroMax begins production

03/10/2008, 5:28 PM

By Drew Johnson

Two years after being shown at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the Morgan AeroMax has officially begun production. The AeroMax will see a limited production run of 100 units at Morgan’s Malvern facility, all of which have already been spoken for.

While the AeroMax’s body is constructed of a high-tech formed aluminum, its frame — in true Morgan fashion — is made of ash.

Despite its wood frame construction, the AeroMax can withstand the power of a BMW-sourced 4.8L V8. Under the hood of the AeroMax, the 4.8L powerplant is good for 367 horsepower, which can scoot the AeroMax from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds on its way to a 170 mph top speed.

The AeroMax can also be had with an automatic transmission — a first for the Morgan marque.

Standard equipment on the AeroMax includes Electronic Brake Distribution with ABS, cruise control, airbags and tire pressure monitoring.

Not sure if I’m a fan of a wood frame. I understand the weight issue but why would I buy a collector car that could warp due to humidity ?

NaziMobiles? Because it has a BMW engine? Then so are Rolls Royce, Bentley ….

Loser at large 640,

You have taken you fun too far.

I have sent word to Admin concerning your disgusting behavior.

You can feign indignity all you like but something really needs to be done about you.

It’s a bit of a shame that more cars like this are not more common. Very different and classy. Heck it’s not a box, a soap bar, or a some awkward abstractionist’s montage with wheels. The finer cars of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s were definitely works of art and are well worth the effort just to try to see them in real life.

Tactful and tasteful sculpture on wheel.s. Not to many cars can pull it off in this day and age, but some can and I’m glad to see at least one.

Keeps everything from looking too much alike.

lp640,

It,s all you do is start and or push along this BS, Hell the first thing you put down was some **** about a fine British automobile being a Nazi car. then follow it up with some foul statement.

And I do not suck up the LLN’s admin. They are, if nothing else, to be made aware of your brand of crap. They can deal with it. I’m just tired of reading it or seeing constructive conversations getting drowned out by your ape**** and that of others… You just happen to be the worst right now. So guess what?

You should have known this was going to happen sooner or later. So stop crying. You earned this.

blakkar- They don’t do anything. LLN doesn’t do their job in the first place, their articles have gotten better, but I’ve written before and haven’t received a reply. I’d simply leave the forums if it continues.

LargePenis, in my humble opinion you should worry less about your schlong and read either geography of history book, at least once. Real men are not measured by the length of their penis, this achievement is reserved for prized bulls and dogs. Morgan is made in Worcestershire, England which was never occupied or rules by Nazis. Morgan is one of the few surviving British auto marquees.

This is great execution of classic 60 year old automobile in 21st century. I wish for history sake Morgan would stick to inline 6 as classic, even if it would take 5 seconds for 0-60 (BMW 3.0L bi-turbo would do the trick). Unfortunately they did not ask my opinion and even did not offer one to buy. Sucks to be me.

Can you say ‘climate controlled garage’ or ‘driven only on sunny days when relative humidity and outside air temperature is within a certain range’. Definitely not a daily driver but very, very cool.

Coachwork of distinction for those who have an appreciation of the automobile. I not have met a Morgan yet that I have not loved.

way cool car! but a car like that looks the coolest on a mildly foggy day on the streets of London. And if I drove this thing I would have to wear driving gloves, a pin stripe suite, a bowler hat, and a fancy umbrella as a cane.
