Most Japanese cars now built outside Japan

07/31/2006, 3:34 PM

By admin

Japanese automakers built more cars outside of Japan than they did inside the country in the 12 month period ended March 31st, reports the International Herald Tribune. The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said in a report that 12 Japanese car and truck makers, which include Toyota, Honda and Nissan, built 10.93 million vehicles at their overseas factories in the past year. That compares with the 10.89 million vehicles they produced in Japan.

Now aint that a shame….where the hell are there oversees factories.. Hell if it works. Bottom line is they still produce quality products, dosent matter where they crank them out.

The Japanese don’t know what a good quality car is. Support GM by buying AMERICAN.

Design and engineering + build process + commitment = quality. Doesn’t matter if the car is built here, there or on the moon.

Well #7, lets put it this way, I recently rented a Nissan ALtima from Hertz and put 800 miles on it, I had great expectations and walked away very disappointed, it was, as some of you say, a “POS !”.
Setting aside the annoying rattle in the driver’s door, the steering wheel controls for radio and cruise control were not backlit for nighttime driving, a major inconvenience when you’re on the E-Way @ 75 mph and fumbling around to change a radio station and/or trying to set the cruise…..then there was the weak brakes, and numb steering, with only 10K miles on the car, it was a real let down…not all Japanese cars are fantastic.

… And it would be the media’s fault for coining the term “Japanese cars”.

Japan is not a company.
Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Suzuki are not one company. They live in different locations, compete with each other, have different management and different people working.

Dem Japs like to kill each other too, just like we do it here with the Ford F-150 towing those sissy boy Chevy and Dodge backwards.

My ‘06 S2000 says Made in Japan all over it. So does my Pioneer plasma TV.

It is almost as good as a Made in Germany stamp. Almost.

The Made In Germany Stamp is a good way to gauge quality even if thirty years have passed.Look at German car’s engine stamps and compare them to the something like a Corona. No contest.Try it with any 2006/07 model.Same deal.NO CONTEST.

Don’t talk about Japan quality being superior to Germany engineering or people will see that you have a credibility problem as well as sociopathic tendencies.
