MTM Audi TT pushes 340 horsepower

10/10/2006, 4:11 PM

By admin

While the world waits to see if rumors of an Audi TT-S or -RS materialize, tuner MTM has already put together upgrade kits for the popular coupe offering up to 340 horsepower.

The heart of the MTM-TT is the 2.0 TFSI with 200 hp. After being souped up by MTM, the direct-injection turbo petrol engine outputs at least 245 bhp (355 Nm at 1,850 rpm). In addition to this, MTM offers 250 (363 Nm/1,850 rpm), 272 (370 Nm/1,850 rpm), and a 313 bhp (395 Nm/ 3,230 rpm) versions.

Further power increases come from a supercharger, modified camshafts, changes to the air filter, and a new exhaust. This brings maximum output to an impressive 340 horsepower. Gallery after the jump…

Love the fact that the exterior changes are minimal. Classy and conservative at the same time, fitting for Audi in general.

So I dont get it – first it says “the direct-injection TURBO petrol engine outputs at least 245 bhp”

but then it says “Further power increases come from a supercharger…”

So this car’s engine is both Turbo’d and Supercharged???

The one photo looks like the rims protrude outward from the tire. If so, this will be lots of fun to park next to a curb. Ugh!

z4 may still smoke it (is this the quattro TT?) but it looks 5x sexier…though after seeing the 350z GT-S this TT is getting more and better competition.

“Still front-wheel drive”.

Who cares? Everyone who has driven the two models currently available agrees that the 2.0 is far better than the 3.2. Which is no surprise in view of the fact that that silly unnecessary 4WD weighs something like 350 lbs!

Why? Who really uses understeer to go around a corner, except on a track? These aren’t track cars.

FWD FTL. All serious car manufacturers use RWD/AWD or a combination of those 2. FWD vehicles are for losers.
