Neiman Marcus BMW M6 sells out in 92 seconds

10/19/2006, 9:42 AM

By admin

50 custom Neiman Marcus BMW M6 convertibles sold out in exactly 92 seconds on Wednesday, the automaker reported today. The special edition model was listed in the North American Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. The company began taking orders at exactly 12.00 p.m., and phone lines were almost instantly jammed with buyers attempting to secure their order.

BMW and Neiman Marcus announced the special edition model earlier this month. The car features the same 500 horsepower V10 engine as the regular M6 convertible, which was first launched in June.

The Neiman Marcus edition features a custom Ruby Black exterior finish accented with an interior with Piano Black trim elements. It comes with an 11-speaker Surround Sound stereo and six-disc CD changer. The drop-top grand tourer costs $139,000.

AuDub, no I am pretty sure that is Total price. The M6 convertible is about $110 I think. Still it is $29,000 for paint and trim… Stupid.

I think the S600 Special Edition sold out even faster.

It wasn’t from Neiman Marcus, some other company.

This goes to show that if people didn’t like the flame surfacing, nobody would buy it. Keep up the good work, BMW.

Foster, as cool as bmw is, i dont think you can justify saying “they are still #1!” after selling 50 custom M6’s. Even if they are #1.

The 6 is the first ‘bangleized’ BMW I’ve liked. The 7 is still an ugly stepchild and the 5 just missed.

I’m the opposite, I love the 5 series ESPECIALLY the M5, hate the 6 series, and the 7 is well the 7…

It was the special edition CL600 that sold out really fast, I believe. Not the S600.

I hope the $29,000 included a whole batch of the awesome Neiman Marcus cookies. FYI- the S600 was Saks Fifth Avenue.
