Contrary to many opinions expressed here, I think this vehicle is just elegantly gorgeous (and I don’t even particularly like Japanese cars). I could care less if it is based on Corolla, Camry, or Tundra truck chassis. I’m looking for a smooth ride with decent power and this thing will deliver. To my eye, the styling elements fall naturally into place whereas the 2007 Camry has a dumpy looking grill, a hood cut line the stands out when viewed from the front, and crappy looking taillights. I’d pass on the Camry in an instant but this new ES350 has really gotten my juices flowing. The available optional features are just what I have been looking for without spending a $100,000.

Hey, if you want a BMW, Audi, or Acura …. buy it! This thing is going to outsell them all and THAT is why Toyota is making money when so many others are failing. The enthusiast market is small compared to the huddled masses who’d rather be coddled in sumptuous smoothness than go around corners at 1.0 g lateral acceleration rates.

I don’t know about lexus that much, but let me tell you that in the real estate world this is the “have to have it” car. about why lexus need it… the ES is the top seller for lexus as camry is the top seller for toyota… it is a win win situation.. would you keep doing the same being a toyota stock holder?… i think yes!

I can’t wait to see the 2007 ES in person. Sure, it is a Camry base, but keep in mind that almost every company does this. Chevy-Cadillac, Ford-Lincon, Chysler-Mercedes, VW-Audi…etc. It is just part of being doing business in the world today. Take drive in any year ES and you will understand why people would spend a few extra bucks!

More appealing than the current ES330 but not much more. Too bad, Lexus missed an opportunity to catch up with some of the other sexy luxury offerings. I do own a 330 but I do not think I will trade for the ES350, there are many other more appealing options out there.

Lexus has always proven to thw world that it is a remarkable brand. Now Lexus has went to the next level with the Lexus ES350. A major horsepower boost of 55 Horses. It took Toyota some time to relize that they have to up the horsepower war ,but they are catching on. The ES350 has an outstanding design with the L-Finesse incorporated into the design its simply beautiful. People may hate on the new ES ,but they will grow to love it

That is nice but nothing more than new loxurious Camry 2007 with much higher price.I would think twice before buying ES350 PRESTIGE VS MONEY.My prior experience with ES models 2 new lexus ES-1998 and 2002.

This ES350 is just what many prospective Buyers have been waiting for. A price point Lexus ES with more horsepower, great new style, and a 6 speed automatic.

Contrary to some of the aforementioned comments, I think this ES is gorgeous! Despite what most people say about Lexus styling, their new L-Finesse shape on the IS, GS, and now ES sell like crazy. People love it and see the value in it. Lexus sells more luxury cars than any other automaker on the planet (without rebates and incentives)! There is a reason for that. I’m a very proud, satisfied, and loyal Lexus customer. NO other car company can match Lexus at this point.

This is the top of the line Camry. The design is meant for people who like Camrys; not as sporty, but far bigger than an IS.

The oval dash rather looks to be some sort of upscale neighborhood’s architectural design. The recessed design at the top of the arch helps.

Still much better executed than domestic luxury brand dress-ups. Those have nearly identical interiors to the common brand version, save for color and badge changes.

In response to people asking if this car is needed in Lexus’s lineup, well, there IS a business case for this car.

The IS and the GS are the sporty mid and large size sedans, respectively. They have relatively harsh rides, and a distinctly sporty bias in their styling, target audience, and performance. The LS at the top is the large “cushy” sedan, although you could opt for the Euro suspension and get a sporty ride. So, where is the “cushy” mid-size sedan?

That’s where the ES comes in.

The nose looks almost identical to the current Acura RL and it’s still the same basic shape as the current ES/Camry.

Why does lexus need the ES in the line-up? Don’t IS, GS and LS suffice? IMO, this dressed-up CAMRY doesn’t fit.
