The Vertu Ascent Motorsport cell phone retails for pricey $5,700, “but, then it can survive being run over by a Porsche — its inspiration. The Vertu was designed based on “Formula One Porsche race cars”. Its casing is made of petroleum-resistant automotive leather inlaid with carbon fiber and a patented composite material called Liquidmetal that is supposed to be twice as hard as stainless steel, the New York Times reported Saturday, according to UPI. “The Liquidmetal casing of the phone makes it so durable, it can even withstand being run over by the very F1 Porsche the design was inspired from,” said a statement by the cell phone company.

there is no such car as a Porsche F1 car. Tey have NOTHING whatsoever to do with F1. And Titanium is quite strong enough to be run over by any car, even a Hummer. In other words, If you are gullible enough to buy this phone, be a smart rich person and donate it to a good charity. //t

Tom,
I agree that $5700 is utterly absurd for a cell phone, no matter how wealthy one may be…
But, you are totally wrong about Porsche and F1… Every heard of the Porsche Michelin Supercup? It’s part of the FIA Formula One World Championship Series and is currently in it’s 13th year. Instead of talking out your tush, you should know what your talking about first.
