New Acura NSX unlikely before 2009

Several recent reports have suggested Acura will introduce the replacement for the NSX sports car in 2008. However, a new report by industry journal Automotive News suggests that the NSX should not be expected before 2009. Regarding Honda’s plan to bring the Acura brand to Japan in late 2008, president Motoatsu Shiraishi said he didn’t think the NSX would be “ready in time” for that launch. Pictured right is an image published by Autoweek Netherlands a few days ago, purportedly showing what the new NSX will look like. While we can’t confirm its authenticity, the image certainly is appealing.
